NIMC Enrolls Six Million Nigerians - DG

Director-General of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Chris Onyemenam, has said that the commission was so far able to enroll six million Nigerians into the national register.

He stated this yesterday at the National Assembly when he presented the Speaker of the House, Animu Waziri Tambuwal, with his identity card.

The director general explained that there are 404 NIMC enrollment centres across all the local government areas of the country, even as he urged Nigerians to walk to such centres for enrollment.

He said registration was "not time bound. If you wake up today and go to any of our 404 enrolment centres, there would be somebody there to enroll you."

The DG added that an immigration service officer is attached to each enrolment centre to certify legal resident Nigerians upon appearance for the registration.
